Injuries Reported in Madera Auto Accident on Highway 145 near Storey Road
MADERA, CA (May 24, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 145 near Storey Road injured Raquel Rodriguez.
The incident happened just after 1:00 p.m. on Highway 145, between Storey Road and Road 29.
When the authorities arrived at the scene, they located a GMC pick-up truck on the right shoulder westbound side as well as a Ford pickup.
Officials revealed that the GMC tried to make a U-turn at the same time a Ford pickup traveled west at around 55 mph.
As the Hispanic adult male GMC driver initiated the U-turn, he went directly in front of the Ford. As a result, the two vehicles crashed.
The GMC driver suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. Moreover, a 28-year-old passenger, Raquel Rodriguez, of Fresno, suffered moderate to major injuries. Responders took her to the hospital.
Moreover, the Ford pickup driver, 65-year-old Carl Sagerquist, of Coarsegold, suffered no injuries and was wearing a seatbelt.
Meanwhile, CHP ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the crash. Officers added that the driver who made the U-turn did not pay attention when attempting to do so.
