Boy Critically Injured After Crash on FM 1044 in Guadalupe County

Guadalupe County, TX (August 9, 2024) – On Friday afternoon, a boy sustained severe injuries in a crash on FM 1044 involving a van.

A Department of Public Safety (DPS) official informed KSAT that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. when a Ford van hit the boy while riding his bike along FM 1044 northbound in Guadalupe County. 

The boy was cycling northbound in a southbound lane at the time of the collision and sustained serious injuries as a result. The full extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

The DPS official also noted that their initial investigation indicated the van’s driver showed no signs of intoxication or impairment. 

The boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, was airlifted to the hospital. 

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
