Irving School Crossing Guard Hospitalized After Crash on E Shady Grove Road

Irving, TX (September 3, 2024) – On Monday morning, a woman sustained injuries in a crash on E Shady Grove Road.

 According to Irving police, the incident occurred last Monday morning at the intersection of E. Shady Grove Road and S. Irving Heights Drive, close to Schulze Elementary School and the Irving Secondary Reassignment Center. 

The guard was in a designated crosswalk, performing her duties during the accident. She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver told police they did not see the guard in the crosswalk. 

Police reported that the driver stopped to assist and is not currently facing any charges.
