TYLER, TX (November 16, 2023) – Monday morning, a tragic hit-and-run crash on E Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Haynie Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of E Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and Haynie Avenue.

According to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh, a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders rushed the victim to UT Health Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, authorities said that the hit-and-run vehicle is best described as a maroon or burgundy GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Tahoe SUV.
