Pedestrian Dies After Crash on Constitution Avenue NE in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (August 7, 2024) – On Wednesday, a pedestrian died in a crash on Constitution Avenue NE.

At 3:30 a.m., the Fatal Crash Team arrived at the intersection of Constitution Avenue N.E. and Wyoming Blvd. N.E. to investigate a fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. 

The crash involved a black Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Preliminary findings reveal that the Toyota was heading westbound on Constitution Ave. N.E., just west of Wyoming Blvd. N.E.

APD reports that Kaseman Hospital had released the pedestrian after he assaulted hospital security guards and fled on foot. 

Although the security guards did not follow the individual or witness the crash, they heard it. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers. Investigators collected witness information, but no additional evidence has been found at this time.
