Police Investigate Crash on 60 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs
Santa Fe Springs, CA (June 7, 2024)- On Monday, one person died in a crash on 60 Freeway and Azusa Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Santa Fe Springs received reports of a traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a black vehicle.
The vehicle crashed into the right-side embankment, leaving the driver unconscious.
CHP officers arrived on the scene and extracted the driver from the vehicle, initiating CPR. Fire department personnel then arrived and used a LUCAS device to continue the compressions.
Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision led to the closure of the 3 and 4 lanes for an unspecified duration. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
