Jose Gomez Dead after Crash on 51st Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (January 4, 2024) – Thursday morning, 41-year-old Jose Gomez died in a crash on 51st Avenue and Thomas Road.

Just before 5 a.m., officers received a call to respond to a reported crash involving a pedestrian in the area of 51st Avenue and Thomas Road. 

Upon arrival, Phoenix firefighters pronounced the pedestrian, 41-year-old Jose Gomez, dead at the scene. 

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene and is not believed to have been impaired, according to police.

 Investigators believe that the crash occurred as Gomez was crossing the street mid-block.
