Injuries Reported in Santa Clarita Multi-Vehicle Accident on 14 Freeway and Escondido Canyon Road

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 5, 2023) – Sunday morning, two people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on 14 Freeway and Escondido Canyon Road.
 
The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. on the northbound 14 Freeway at Escondido Canyon Road, north of Santa Clarita.
 
“It was a multi-vehicle traffic collision,” Martin Rangel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. “We had patients — two in critical condition, two with minor injuries, with one trapped.”
 
After the crash, responders transported two patients to a trauma center in critical condition. At this time, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the person trapped was one of the injured.
 
“CHP at one point said five vehicles, possible two vehicles overturned, but I didn’t get confirmation on that,” Rangel added.
 
Also, the incident closed all lanes of the northbound 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road. Moreover, the authorities issued a SigAlert for the area.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
