9 People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash in the 3500 block of West 39th Street in Leimert Park

Leimert Park, CA (March 28, 2024)  -Authorities reported that a multi-car crash in the 3500 block of West 39th Street involving a Metro bus Thursday afternoon hospitalized at least nine people. 

Around 3:40 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the incident in the 3500 block of West 39th Street. 

The exact number of vehicles involved remained unclear, but scene videos depicted a silver SUV lying on its side on the roadway, another vehicle severely damaged, and a Metro bus parked by the roadside.

Firefighters evaluated at least 14 individuals, including both bus passengers and occupants of the other vehicles involved, according to officials. 

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that three people received transportation to hospitals in moderate condition, and six others were taken in fair condition. 

Some of those evaluated chose not to go to the hospital. The number of passengers on the bus at the time of the crash was not immediately clear.
