Courtney Dyar of Oceanside Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on State Route 78 [Oceanside, CA]

Oceanside, CA (November 09, 2021) – On Sunday, 27-year-old Courtney Dyar of Oceanside was fatally struck on State Route 78.

It was around 6 a.m. when Dyar was hit by a vehicle on the freeway’s westbound lanes.

Officers said Dyar entered the freeway in order to avoid a road construction sign. The driver fled the scene after the incident.

Moreover, the authorities said the involved driver went to a nearby gas station to call the California Highway Patrol and report the incident.

Right away, the CHP and Oceanside Fire Department responded to the scene and attempted CPR.

However, they later pronounced Dyar dead at the scene.
