Fatal Traffic Accident at Salvation Baptist Church

Edgewood, WA (November 28, 2023) – A 72-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man were killed following an Eighth Street East pedestrian accident Sunday afternoon.

It was about 1:30 p.m. when the collision happened in the area of 106th Avenue Court East.

The Edgewood couple was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street after attending service at Salvation Baptist Church. 

Investigators said the driver was evaluated and that he was not impaired when the accident happened. They added that the driver didn’t sound like he was speeding.

Officers are still investigating the cause of the horrible accident.

The two deceased were both beloved long-time members of the congregation.
