Couple Crashes Into Another Vehicle in Santa Clarita Auto Accident
SANTA CLARITA, CA (September 8, 2020) – Thursday night, authorities arrested a couple after an alleged DUI crash on a Canyon Country Street.
The authorities received a report about the two drunk Canyon Country resident. The two alleged drunk drivers “got into separate cars and were heading home. Then, the male adult driver allegedly ran into the vehicle of the female adult driver, sending her vehicle into a parked vehicle on a Canyon Country residential street,” spokeswoman Shirley Miller of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said. “The male adult initially fled the scene. But then returned a short time later and picked the female adult up at the scene. Leaving her disabled car behind.”
Upon the arrival of the deputies, they found the couple from their home.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they were able to track the couple down to their home. Miller stated, “Deputies observed the strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and other signs of impairment by the parties.”
Thus, the authorities arrested both the man and the woman on felony DUI and hit and run charges.
Then, the couple, who were both in their 50s, were booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
“If you’re going to be consuming alcoholic beverages this holiday weekend, or anytime, don’t get behind the wheel of a car and drive,” Miller added.
May this incident be a reminder for all motorists to drive responsibly. Drivers should also keep in mind that distracted driving, speeding, and failing to yield will lead to dangerous road accidents.
