Morning 2-Vehicle Wreck on 5 Freeway in Cottonwood Injures One
COTTONWOOD, CA (February 22, 2019) – A woman was injured following a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Cottonwood.
The crash happened around 9:43 a.m. on northbound 5 Freeway at Sunset Hills Drive off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Ford Focus sedan and a white pickup truck collided on the right shoulder of the freeway. The impact caused front-end damage on the Ford sedan.
A female occupant in the sedan also sustained injuries to her legs, stomach and arms as a result of the crash.
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and took the injured patient to a hospital for proper treatment.
The damaged sedan was towed away from the crash site.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
