COTTONWOOD, CA – One Killed in Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway at Hooker Creek Road

Early Morning Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway in Cottonwood Ends in Fatality

 
COTTONWOOD, CA (April 11, 2019) – One person was killed following a rollover crash early Thursday morning in Cottonwood.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 1:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway at Hooker Creek Road off-ramp. Dispatchers arrived to the area soon after.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on the freeway when it overturned and landed on its side.
 
The driver, whose the sole occupant of the car, was trapped inside. Responding firefighters and medical crews worked on the extrication and pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the deceased were not immediately available pending family notification.
 
It is unknown if intoxication was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway
