Coronado Motorcycle Police Officer Injured in Sixth Street Collision [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (July 3, 2023) – On Sunday, a Coronado motorcycle police sergeant sustained injuries following a Sixth Street collision.

The traffic accident happened at 9 a.m. in a the area of Alameda Boulevard on a residential area of Coronado. Reports said a vehicle pulled out of an alley and struck the officer.

As a result, the officer’s motorcycle was caught on the grill of the vehicle and the officer flew over the handlebars of his patrol bike toward the hood of the vehicle and struck the windshield.

“The officer was conscious and was able to radio for help,” according to Coronado police. He was then transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the Alameda Boulevard vehicle crash.
