HOLLYWOOD, CA (June 4, 2024) – Friday night, Cornell Harvey was arrested after a startling pursuit crash on 5600 Franklin Avenue.

The incident started at around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to a shooting incident in the 5600 block of Franklin Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers identified 35-year-old Cornell Harvey as a suspect and pursued him on foot. Harvey entered a parked vehicle and fled, initially heading west on Hollywood Boulevard before turning east on Sunset Boulevard. His attempt to evade police resulted in a crash with two vehicles at Sunset and Vine Avenue.

After the collision, Harvey exited his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. Officers discovered a live round in his possession. Of the two drivers involved in the crash, one was hospitalized, and the other complained of pain but did not seek hospital treatment. Harvey sustained a minor head abrasion and was treated at a local hospital before being taken into police custody.
