1 Dead in Fontana Pedestrian Accident on Foothill Boulevard and Sultana Avenue
FONTANA, CA (August 4, 2022) – Wednesday morning, authorities arrested Coreyraye Smith after a deadly crash on Foothill Boulevard.
The incident happened at around 5:35 a.m. on Foothill Boulevard, west of Sultana Avenue.
According to reports, a white pickup truck driving west struck a pedestrian walking east in the two-way left turn lane of Foothill Boulevard.
Then, the driver failed to stop and escaped the crash scene.
Meanwhile, responders took the pedestrian to a local hospital where that person succumbed to injuries.
Moreover, officers found the suspect and suspect vehicle, Coreyraye Smith, at a Rialto residence. Then, they arrested Coreyraye Smith on a charge of felony hit and run.
Furthermore, the crash shut down Foothill between Beech and Almeria avenues for several hours during the investigation.
