Crash on Cherry Avenue Injures Contractor after Carjack Incident
Beaumont, CA (October 9, 2020) – A carjack incident resulted to a single-vehicle crash on Cherry Avenue that left a contractor injured on early Thursday morning.
On October 8 at around 3 a.m., the contractor was working in a bucket truck on Beaumont Avenue and Oak Valley Parkway. Beaumont Police Department said that the suspect tried to steal the vehicle and drove the truck away while the contractor was inside.
The contractor was thrown from the bucket before the vehicle crashed into a tree on Cherry Avenue. The suspect immediately fled the area.
Furthermore, the driver struck the power lines and other utility cables with the extended bucket. Thus, a temporary power outage occurred in the neighborhood.
The contractor suffered serious injuries however, there was no information about his current condition.
