Potter County Vehicle Crash Kills Pedestrian

Potter County, TX (May 28, 2024) – 51-year-old Connie Werner of Spearman was killed in a Loop 335 vehicle crash Saturday morning.

It was about 10:45 a.m. when a 2024 Hyundai Tucson driven by Werner was northbound on Loop 335 behind the truck.

Investigators said the truck pulled over onto the shoulder to do an unsafe U-turn on the downhill side.

The Hyundai attempted to avoid the truck and swerved left into the southbound lane. However, Werner could not avoid the crash and the truck crashed into the Hyundai.

Sadly, Werner was declared dead at the crash scene.

The truck driver was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are investigating.
