Colton Stout and Another Driver Dead after Los Molinos Head-on Crash
LOS MOLINOS, CA (August 15, 2019) — A 21-year-old driver identified as Colton Stout died after a head-on collision on Tuesday, August 13.
The crash occurred at about 11:20 p.m. on Highway 99 near 6th Avenue, just north of Los Molinos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman driving a Dodge SUV northbound crossed into oncoming traffic. The SUV collided head-on into a Saturn sedan driven by Stout. Both cars caught fire.
Officers shut down Highway 99 for about three hours as officers investigated and the cleared the wreckage. The highway reopened just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
The Tehama County Coroner’s Office is still working to confirm the identity of the second driver who died.
