Colton Lindberg Struck and Killed in Mossyrock Pedestrian Crash on Highway 12
MOSSYROCK, WA (January 3, 2019) – A man died after he was struck while standing in the middle of Highway 12 in Lewis County on New Year’s Day.
According to the Washington State Patrol reports, state troopers and medics responded to the scene in the eastbound lanes of the highway approximately two miles west of Mossyrock, at around 1:10 a.m. after receiving calls about a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, later identified as 27-year-old Colton M. Lindberg, of Toledo, died at the scene.
The initial investigation found that a Ford Focus with three occupants was moving east when it hit Lindberg, who was standing in the middle of the highway wearing dark clothing.
The vehicle’s occupants – a man, a woman, and a 1-year-old girl were not harmed.
The driver was not at fault and no charges will be filed, according to troopers.
