San Diego, CA (February 12, 2024) – On Monday, one person sustained injuries in a crash on SR-905.

Reportedly, a collision involving a San Diego MTS bus and a Ford Mustang on the eastbound lanes of SR-905, near Caliente Avenue, resulted in one person being hospitalized and caused significant traffic disruptions.

The Mustang’s driver required extrication by firefighters, a process that took roughly 20 minutes, before being transported to a local hospital with an undisclosed condition. 

Remarkably, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the MTS bus, who were transferred to another bus to continue their travel with minimal delay.

The incident, which damaged about 40 feet of guardrail, led to the issuance of a SigAlert as crews worked to clear the site. 

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, with initial suspicions focusing on wet roads and speeding as possible causes. 

The situation on SR-905 has since been managed, but the investigation into the crash’s specifics continues.
