52-year-old Woman Arrested in Hit-and-Run Crash on College Avenue
San Diego, CA (August 26, 2022) On Thursday, an 82-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a bicycle crash on College Avenue.
Authorities say that the hit-and-run crash happened at around 2:55 p.m. between El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue. Furthermore, the man rode his bike on a bicycle lane near Adleane Avenue.
San Diego Police say that a 52-year-old woman on a Cadillac SRX “made an unsafe movement” and hit the man on the bicycle in front of her vehicle.
Reports say that the woman fled the scene, but police apprehended her later on. Authorities arrested the woman on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run charge. Even so, they did not release her name at this time.
Meanwhile, the 82-year-old victim suffered serious injuries, and rescuers transported him to a hospital for immediate treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
San Diego Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the incident and has not released further information about the crash.
