Tacoma Driver Cody Cantwell Injured in Deadly Crash on Highway 41 [Kings County, CA]

Kings County, CA (August 30, 2024) – 26-year-old Cody Cantwell from Hanford was injured in a deadly vehicle crash on Highway 41 Wednesday night.

CHP officers responded at 10:30 p.m. to the vehicle crash north of Nevada Avenue.

According to the investigators, Cantwell was driving a northbound tan Toyota Tacoma.

At the same time, a 22-year-old Arkansas man was driving a southbound white Toyota Rav4 on the same highway.

Suddenly, the Arkansas man swerved into the northbound lane into the path of the Tacoma, resulting to a head-on crash.

Officers said the truck has overturned in the collision.

Cody Cantwell incurred minor injuries and was treated at the scene while the Rav4 driver died.

Meanwhile, officers are still investigating why the Arkansas veered into the opposite traffic, though they say alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash.
