Female Passenger Killed, Multiple People Injured in Cloverdale Crash
CLOVERDALE, CA (March 3, 2019) – One person was killed and three were injured following a car accident Sunday morning, involving Anthony Wilkinson and Rebecca Whiteman.
The fatal crash happened around 8:25 a.m. on Highway 101 at Asti Road off-ramp. CHP officials said a white 2011 Honda Pilot was heading into a sweeping left curve in the highway, when it lost control and veered right off the east side of the road. It then crashed down a wooden embankment and collided with a tree.
A woman in the front passenger seat was killed in the crash. Her identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
The driver, a 47-year-old Anthony Wilkinson of Talmage, and his other two passengers who were sitting in the back seat, were injured. They were all transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for immediate treatment.
Wilkinson and a 12-year-old boy suffered major injuries, while a 67-year-old Rebecca Whiteman of Ukiah had minor injuries, officials said.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
