1 Killed in E Main Street Collision
Barstow, CA (May 14, 2024) – A driver, Clifford George Snow, 58, was arrested following an E Main Street fatal crash Saturday night.
It was past 10:45 when the deadly crash happened in the 1900 block area.
Troopers said Snow was driving a pickup truck that struck multiple vehicles in the 1900 block of Sunrise Road. Snow immediately fled heading north on Montara Road at high speed.
The front passenger-side wheel of Snow’s vehicle fell off as he sped through E Main Street. He then lost control of the vehicle and drifted off the roadway where he struck the pedestrian.
Snow’s vehicle finally stopped on the railroad tracks.
Sadly, the pedestrian, a 40-year-old Barstow man, died at the crash scene.
Moreover, the authorities determined Snow to be under the influence of a controlled substance. They arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
Bail for Clifford George Snow was set at $60,000. He was scheduled to appear in the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court on Tuesday.
