Ali Fakhreddine Arrested in Fatal Costa Mesa Hit-And-Run That Killed Cleo Coffman

 
COSTA MESA, CA (September 11, 2020) – On Sunday morning, Cleo Coffman and her dog Bob died in a hit-and-run crash on Mesa Drive.
 
Police later arrested Ali Zohair Fakhreddine in connection to the crime. The Riverside man is now being charged with DUI, hit-and-run, and murder.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Mesa Drive and Irvine Avenue.
 
According to authorities, Ms. Coffman was walking across the street when a silver sedan hit her and her Shih Tzu.
 
According to CHP Officer Florentino Olivera, the 72-year-old Newport Beach woman used the crosswalk during the crash.
 
At this time, there are no further details about the crash. The authorities did however, arrest suspect Ali Zohair Fakhreddine for the hit and run.
 
The fatal crash on Mesa Drive remains under active investigation.
