Infant Injured in Taft Auto Accident near Lassen Avenue and McKinley Street
TAFT, CA (January 10, 2024) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Claudio Roquehernandez after a startling DUI crash near Lassen Avenue and McKinley Street.
The incident happened just after 8:00 p.m. when the suspect drove drunk near Lassen Avenue and McKinley Street. Then, his car crashed into two parked cars.
Officers confirmed that the suspect had an unrestrained child in the car at the time of the crash.
As a result, the 1-year-old child sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Kern Medical for treatment.
Meanwhile, officers arrested Roquehernandez and charged him with two counts of felony drunk driving, felony child endangerment causing bodily injury, possession of an open container, driving without a license, and failure to use child restraints.
Also, officers booked him into the Lerdo Jail, and was being held on $40,314 bail Tuesday.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
