DUI Driver Hospitalized after Vehicle Crashes into Tree near Monterey Avenue
PALM DESERT, CA (November 17, 2018) – A woman was injured early Saturday morning following a suspected DUI accident near Monterey Avenue. The victim was later identified as 28-year-old Clashea Rivera, a resident of Palm Desert.
As per reports, the incident happened shortly after 12:00 AM. A white Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Highway 111 when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Rivera suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Authorities confirmed that Rivera was later arrested after she was found to have been operating the Nissan while under the influence of alcohol. Further updates on her current condition were not immediately provided.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and to identify other possible contributing factors.
