77-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after Crash on State Route 24 at University Parkway
YAKIMA, WA (February 11, 2018) – According to the Washington State Patrol, a 77-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized after a three-car crash on State Route 24 on Sunday afternoon around 2:40 PM.
37-year-old Guillermo Garcia-Verdin of Yakima, was driving east on SR 24 at University Parkway, when he struck a car in the turn lane, driven by 77-year-old Clara Coddington. She then hit a westbound vehicle, driven by Rosa Valencia-Farias.
Coddington was injured and transported to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. No other injuries were reported in this incident.
All three cars were totaled and had to be towed from the scene of the crash. Authorities say that the cause of the accident was probably improper lane usage. Garcia-Verdin was cited for the accident.
