1 Person Dead in Wheatland DUI Accident on Spenceville Road near Jasper Lane

WHEATLAND, CA (September 14, 2023) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Clara Ann Delong after a fatal DUI crash on Spenceville Road near Jasper Lane.

The incident happened at around 8:46 p.m. on Spenceville Road, west of Jasper Lane.

According to Wheatland Police Department Chief Brian Wittmer, an eastbound Ford pickup truck made a left turn into a private driveway directly in front of a westbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Then, the Ford driver fled the scene on foot after the collision.

Moreover, responders pronounced the Harley Davidson driver, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest the Ford driver, 24-year-old Delong at her residence. Authorities confirmed that Clara Ann Delong at her residence was booked into Yuba County Jail for charges that include vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, and hit-and-run.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
