Cielo Rojas Struck and Killed in Gardena 405 Freeway Accident
Gardena, CA (September 24, 2020) – On Thursday morning, Cielo Romero Rojas, 19, died while two others sustained injuries in a collision on 405 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol’s incident information page said the tragic accident took place at around 3:40 a.m. near Western and Normandie Avenue.
Moreover, at a news conference, CHP officials described the incident as a “multiple incident collision.”
The authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the rescuers rushed the other two victims were to local hospitals. They sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Furthermore, authorities closed all southbound lanes of the freeway at Normandie Avenue for several hours. Traffic crews reopened the lanes a little before 8:30 a.m.
Later reports say Cielo Romero Rojas, of San Pedro, rode in a 2005 Toyota that became disabled in the Number 1 and 2 lanes after a crash.
Then, while Rojas and the driver stood by the driver’s side of the Toyata, they were struck by 24-year-old Santa Ana woman.
