Christopher Wilson and Sandra Barros Involved in Merced County Crash
MERCED COUNTY, CA (August 30, 2019) – A 28-year-old motorcyclist suffered major injuries after colliding with a car at Griffith Road and American Avenue Tuesday night.
The authorities said reports about the crash came in at around 6:09 p.m. 28-year-old Christopher Wilson of Hilmar was operating a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Griffith Avenue. After that, 28-year-old Sandra Barros of Atwater was driving a 2016 Lincoln sedan northbound. As a result, they both approached the intersection at American Avenue when their vehicles collided.
Barros reportedly failed to see Wilson and turned directly into the path of the motorcyclist. As a result, the force of the collision ejected Wilson from his bike. He sustained major head injuries, prompting officials to airlift him to a hospital.
The accident is under investigation. The officers do not suspect that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
