29-Year-Old Lancaster Man Fatally Injured in Collision near Avenue O
PALMDALE, CA (April 14, 2018) – A man was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on Sierra Highway, late Saturday night.
The collision took place on the Sierra Highway, just north of Avenue O, around 10:00 PM. The victim was identified by the Coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter, as 29-year-old Christopher Robin Guthrie of Lancaster.
According to CHP reports, Guthrie was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2004 Harley Davidson, when he swerved into oncoming traffic. His motorcycle crashed into a southbound 2017 Honda Pilot, driven by a 38-year-old man. He was thrown from his motorcycle onto the road, sustained serious injuries.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced Guthrie dead from injuries sustained. The SUV driver was uninjured, while another motorcyclist on the road was injured when hit by debris from the collision. The 49-year-old Rosamond man was riding a 1994 Harley Davidson and suffered trauma to his hand.
