Injuries Sustained in San Luis Obispo County Accident on Centre Street

 
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, CA (April 13, 2021) – Saturday night, an injury crash on Centre Street involved Christopher Moen and Eva Vasquez.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 7:09 p.m. 42-year-old Christopher Moen of Paso Robles drove a Dodge Ram pickup. Then, he stopped at the intersection of Centre Street and Highway 46/41 east in Shandon.
 
Meanwhile, 55-year-old Eva Vasquez of Selma was waiting to make a left turn in her Toyota Tacoma while traveling east at a speed of 65 mph.
 
Furthermore, Moen claimed that he didn’t see the approaching traffic from the eastbound lanes and drove forward. On the other hand, Vasquez said that she saw the Dodge move forward towards her lane. Thus, she attempted to stop her vehicle.
 
The eastbound pickup continued driving while Vasquez tried to avoid the collision by steering to the left. The right front end of the Tacoma was struck by the left front end of the Dodge.
 
Also, Templeton Area CHP, Cal Fire, San Luis Obispo Sheriff units, and San Luis Ambulance responded to the crash. Paramedics transported all parties inside the Tacoma to Twin Cities Community Hospital for treatment. Moen refused medical treatment and transport.
 
Moreover, authorities confirmed that all parties, including a 4-year-old juvenile, were using seatbelts and were properly secured at the time of the crash.
 
CHP does not believe that drugs, alcohol, or phone usage played a role in the crash.
