Christopher Midwell Dead, Thomas Strader Hospitalized in Spokane Car Collision
SPOKANE, WA (September 6, 2019) – Early Friday morning, 25-year-old Christopher Midwell died in a motorcycle and car accident on Highway 291.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened just before 3:00 AM near Parkway Road. Troopers reported Midwell drove a Suzuki GSX-R1000 at a high rate of speed. After that, he veered over the center lane of traffic. As a result, he struck a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, driven by 23-year-old Thomas Strader.
The Spokane Fire Department stated Midwell ejected from his motorcycle. As a result of his injuries, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Strader suffered unknown injuries. As a result, paramedics took her to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. However, no other information has been released on the condition of his injuries.
Law enforcement listed the cause of the collision as reckless driving.
The surrounding area closed for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
