Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Rolling Hills Way
TORRANCE, CA (April 23, 2019) – A motorcyclist apparently racing with a car was killed when he crashed into a pickup truck Tuesday morning in Torrace, police said.
The crash took place at 9:35 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Rolling Hills Way.
According to a witness, a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle was racing with a gray newer model Dodge Charger, when it was struck by a 217 Ford F-150 that was making a left turn into a driveway.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 29-year-old Christopher Mack of San Pedro, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck’s driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The Dodge Charger fled the crash site without stopping.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. Authorities urged anyone who witnessed the crash to call the police traffic division at 310-618-5557.
