Motorcycle and Vehicle Collision on Highway 24 Killed Christopher Jones
Oakland, CA (July 31, 2020)– On late Wednesday night, a two-vehicle collision on Highway 24 left Christopher Jones dead.
The fatal victim was identified as Christopher Jones, a 51-year-old man from Davis.
CHP said the collision happened on July 29 at about 11:17 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 24 just west of Highway 13 near the Caldecott Tunnel.
Jones, who was driving a Yamaha motorcycle, pulled onto the right shoulder of the highway for unknown reasons. He then tried to re-enter the roadway when a Honda Accord struck him.
Due to the impact of the collision, Jones was ejected from his motorcycle. Authorities later pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Honda driver, a 29-year-old Oakland man, remained at the scene.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 24 were closed for about 45 minutes as the investigation went on.

Furthermore, the investigators believed that neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the fatal collision.
