37-Year-Old San Luis Obispo Man Killed in Train Collision near Pepper Street
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (August 29, 2018) – A man was killed Wednesday morning following a train collision near Mill Street and Pepper Street. The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Christopher Hackmann of San Luis Obispo.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the incident took place at about 10:25 AM under the Mill Street overpass. The train engineer saw Hackmann lying on the tracks but was not able to stop the train from hitting the victim.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Hackmann dead after suffering critical injuries. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
