1 Person Dead in Los Angeles Scooter Accident on Sunset Boulevard near Edgecliff Drive
LOS ANGELES, CA (November 30, 2023) – Tuesday morning, authorities arrested Christopher Gibson after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunset Boulevard near Edgecliff Drive.
The incident happened at around 1:10 a.m. on westbound Sunset Boulevard, just east of Edgecliff Drive.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a westbound 2011 Mazda 3 struck a pedestrian on a scooter. Then, the vehicle fled the scene westbound on Sunset Boulevard, then southbound on Lucile Avenue.
Moreover, responders rushed the pedestrian to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Furthermore, officers managed to locate, arrest, and booked the hit-and-run driver, identified as Gibson, to the Metropolitan Detention Center, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
