WSP Trooper Christopher Gadd Killed in Interstate 5 Collision [Marysville, WA]

Marysville, WA (March 3, 2024) – 27-year-old WSP Trooper Christopher Gadd was killed following an Interstate 5 collision early Saturday morning.

The fatal collision happened before 3 a.m. on the southbound lanes of I-5 near 136th Street North. 

Investigators said a southbound SUV veered off the roadway onto the shoulder and struck a parked WSP patrol car. 

Sadly, Trooper Christopher was killed in this collision.

Police said another car occupied by six passengers was also involved crashed with the SUV. The medical team rushed the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the passengers were not hurt.

Moreover, investigators believe the SUV driver was driving at a high speed when the vehicles into the Gadd’s WSP patrol car.

Later on, 32-year-old Lynnwood man was evaluated and apprehended for vehicular homicide.

WSP said Gadd is the 33rd member of the WSP killed in the line of duty in the agency’s 103 years of service to this state.
