25-Year-Old Toyota Driver Dies in Desert Hot Springs Collision
Desert Hot Springs, CA (April 10, 2022) On Friday evening, the authorities arrested Christopher Burciaga of Desert Hot Springs in a DUI collision on 14000 block of Palm Drive that killed a 25-year-old Toyota driver.
Police say that around 8:15 p.m. Burciaga on a Ford Ranger made an illegal u-turn in front of a Toyota Tundra causing the collision.
The impact caused the Toyota to roll over.
The Desert Hot Springs Police Department (DHSPD) says the Toyota driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, Burciaga allegedly driving the Ford while under the influence of alcohol, fled the scene.
However, the police caught him at his house a little time later.
The authorities booked Christopher Burciaga into John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. The cases he is facing are suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, hit-and-run causing death, and DUI causing injury.
