42-Year-Old Hercules Man Killed in Bicycle Collision near The Dead Fish Restaurant
CROCKETT, CA (July 24, 2018) – A man was killed Tuesday evening after his bicycle was struck by a hit-and-run driver near The Dead Fish waterfront restaurant on San Pueblo Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 7:25 PM in the area of 20050 San Pablo. 42-year-old Christopher Bunag was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a red Mini Cooper.
Bunag sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials. Meanwhile, the driver of the Mini Cooper, later identified as 28-year-old Martinez resident Kylie Lanae Derkson, fled the scene.
On Wednesday evening, an anonymous caller provided information regarding the identity and location of Derkson. She was arrested on one felony count of vehicular manslaughter and one felony count of hit-and-run resulting in death. She is being held in lieu of $100,000 at the Martinez Detention Facility.
