Morongo Road Crash Injures Anthony Reinke and Others
Twentynine Palms, CA (January 21, 2022) – On Thursday, 47-year-old Christiellen Almeida died while 32-year-old Anthony Reinke of Yucca Valley and others sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on Morongo Road.
The fatal crash happened at about 6:10 a.m. at the intersection with Indian Trail.
Christiellen Almeida, a 12-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old boy were the passengers of a southbound black 2019 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 49-year-old Joel Almeida on Morongo Road.
Their vehicle went into the intersection directly into the path of an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Reinke on the Indian Trail.
The front of Reinke’s vehicle collided with the passenger side of the Almeidas’ Nissan.
Both of the vehicles rolled over and rested on the southeast corner of Indian Trail and Morongo Road.
Immediately, the emergency team responded and took Christiellen Almeida to Hi-Desert Medical Center, where the authorities pronounced her dead.
Moreover, the paramedics took the 6-year-old boy to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries. They also took the 12-year-old girl to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The medical responders rushed Joel Almeida to HDMC with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, responding officers took Reinke to the Naval hospital on board the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center with moderate injuries.
Officers said that everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt during the incident. Similarly, kids were also in the appropriate child seats.
Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash.
The authorities are investigating this fatal crash.
