19-Year-Old Christian Rodriquez Dead After Crash on 59th Avenue in Maricopa County

Maricopa County (March 10, 2024) – On Friday night, 19-year-old Christian Rodriquez died in a crash on 59th Avenue.

The accident occurred near the intersection of 59th and Southern Avenues in Laveen, where two cars collided head-on after one attempted to pass in a construction zone, according to MCSO. 

Emergency responders transported Rodriquez to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. 

The other car’s driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening, injuries. MCSO has yet to determine whether factors such as speed, alcohol, or distraction contributed to the crash, and has not identified either driver. 

Deputies will close roads in the area for several hours on Friday night to investigate the crash.
