2 Hurt in San Mateo Pedestrian Accident on Edison Street and West Hillsdale Boulevard
SAN MATEO, CA (December 15, 2023) – Wednesday, authorities arrested Christian ChavezLainez following a startling hit-and-run crash on Edison Street.
The arrest was done a day after he struck two pedestrians in a crosswalk on Edison Street and West Hillsdale Boulevard.
Reports confirmed that the crash happened on December 12th, just before 9:00 p.m.
As two pedestrians walked in a crosswalk, ChavezLainez driving a black Toyota Corolla hit them and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, responders treated the two victims at the scene. Also, they provided officers with a photo of the suspect car.
Then, by Dec. 13, authorities found the Toyota in Belmont with the suspect inside. He was detained and booked into San Mateo County Jail for felony hit and run.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
