2 People Dead in Kansas City Auto Accident near Northeast 42nd Street and Parvin Road

KANSAS CITY, MO (September 4, 2024) – Sunday night, Christa Brodigan and Amber Rainey died in a crash near Northeast 42nd Street.

The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. near Northeast 42nd Street and Parvin Road.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, an eastbound Mitsubishi Outlander traveling at a high rate of speed crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a Ford Transit van.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as 36-year-old Rainey, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported two child passengers of the vehicle to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, paramedics rushed the three occupants of the Ford, the driver, an adult passenger, and a child passenger, to a hospital where the driver, identified as 33-year-old Brodigan, was later pronounced dead.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
