Czech Man Arrested after Rio Vista Accident on Highway 12 and North 5th Street
RIO VISTA, CA (March 23, 2022) – Monday night, a CHP sergeant suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 12 and North 5th Street.
The crash happened at around 7:19 p.m. when the CHP issued a “be on the lookout” alert. According to reports, an on-duty Napa sergeant sustained injuries in a hit-and-run.
Also, the CHP sergeant sustained a broken leg but is expected to fully recover. An hour later, a deputy found the involved vehicle on Highway 12 and North 5th Street. The deputy stopped the driver and detained him. Later, the CHP officials arrested the Czech man.
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the driver. However, the CHP confirmed that he came from the Czech Republic and does not speak English.
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
