DUI Driver Arrested after Hitting CHP Sergeant on Interstate 80 near Lagoon Valley Road
VACAVILLE, CA (August 10, 2019) – A CHP sergeant required hospitalization after a DUI crash on Interstate 80, early Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened between Lagoon Valley Road and Pena Adobe Road, at about 3:00 AM. The sergeant was on patrol when a vehicle struck his car.
Emergency responders transported the sergeant to a hospital as a precaution. Meanwhile, officers located the driver responsible for the collision after she sped away from the scene. Then, they arrested her on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. It is unknown whether or not the driver sustained injuries in the crash.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision. Authorities will release additional information following the conclusion of the investigation.
