CHP Officer Injured in San Diego Car Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 7, 2019) – A California Highway Patrol officer sustained injuries after being hit by a vehicle whose driver lost control because of wet road conditions.
The officer was reportedly conducting an investigation in the freeway when the collision occurred. According to reports, the unidentified officer was “standing by on the left shoulder” of westbound Highway 94 transition to the southbound 15 Freeway, conducting an investigation to an abandoned crashed truck about 6:45 a.m. when the black Ford Focus driver lost control and hit the patrol car, CHP Sgt. Joseph Aboy said.
As a result, the officer suffered injuries while the driver of the Ford was unharmed.
